Middle School at Laurence Manning Academy is a time of meaningful academic growth, increasing independence, and preparation for high school. As students transition from a self-contained classroom to a multi-class schedule, they take greater ownership of their learning while developing essential organizational and study skills.
Our curriculum challenges and supports students through core subjects—English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies—along with enrichment in STEM, fine arts, and physical education. This balanced approach encourages both academic excellence and exploration.
In eighth grade, students may take high school-level courses such as English, Algebra, Computer Science, and Physical Education, with opportunities to earn high school credit. Assessment also evolves, with continued MAP testing and the introduction of the PSAT to promote college and career readiness.
