FINE ARTS

Fine Arts programming has been a highly valued component of our curriculum for decades. At LMA, students have the opportunity to explore their creative sides through classes including art, music, drama, chorus, and dance (when available). Many of our talented faculty are classically trained performers themselves and are experts in teaching their art forms to students of all ages.

“Getting involved in fine arts at Laurence Manning Academy completely changed my confidence and perspective.

As a former art student, I discovered my creative voice through Mrs. McInnis’s guidance and encouragement. She helped me recognize my potential early on and gave me the confidence to pursue art seriously. That foundation carried through my time at Laurence Manning and continues to shape my work today as a professional artist.

WIS News 10 (Columbia, SC) reporter Deric Rush, graduate of Laurence Manning Academy (LMA)

As a new student, Drama and Chorus pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me how to adapt, stay coachable, and reinvent myself. Performing in front of the entire school helped me develop the confidence and presence I rely on today in my professional life as a news reporter for WIS-10.”

“What makes the STEM program at Laurence Manning Academy special is watching students realize they are capable of solving problems and creating new ideas. STEM encourages curiosity, teamwork, and resilience—skills that prepare our students not just for future careers, but for life.”

Kristi Waldron, STEM Director

We take great pride in our challenging, always fun STEM programming available to lower school students (K3-5th grade). Led by Director Kristi Waldron, participating students engage in hands-on, real-world experiments designed to help them develop the necessary skills for success in our ever-changing modern world.
